Yes I have seen this happen which is why it’s so important to buy slipcovered pieces if you are going light with the upholstery. I have a tufted sofa in my family room that’s upholstered in an off white & I can see some darkening from denim. I just have an Upholstry cleaner come out twice a year & professionally clean it

We had new linen slips made for them – the room looks much larger and sooo cozy. Everyone gravetates to this room now. Of course the new problem…what to do with the empty family room:)
