Hello everyone. Sorry for my absence but it has been a difficult holiday season for me this year. I had an injury on Christmas day where a knife pierced my wrist, completely severing my ulnar nerve in my dominant hand. Three of my fingers and my palm are numb and I have limited range of motion & grip strength. I went in for surgery on Jan 2 & am now in a cast up to my elbow. This coming Tues, the cast will be removed & I will have a splint for two more weeks and then I will start physical therapy. To top things off, the week between my injury & my surgery I managed to catch the worst stomach bug I’ve ever had & was sick as dog for four days. Then my husband came down with it New Years Eve..just as I was starting to feel better! Needless to say, I’m glad the holidays are over & am looking forward to getting on with my recovery & back to my life.
They are not giving me any guarantees on what to expect. I’ve been told not to expect my hand to ever be the way it was before the injury & that nerves regenerate at about an inch a month so we are looking at 8 months for maximum recovery. Theres so much unknown at this point…when will i be able to work again…remember i am a hairstylist & need both hands to do my job. Although this has been very difficult for me, it is giving me the opportunity to rely on my faith and Gods promises.
Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (NIV)
Psalm 71 20-21
Though you have made me see troubles, many & bitter, you will restore my life again;
From the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.
Psalms 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength; our very present help in times of trouble
I am believing for a complete healing and restoration
Now on to some pretties…. I don’t have much for you from my home since all decor projects have come to an abrupt halt…but my friend Steve is still moving along on his place in DC. We made a decision on lighting & they were just installed last week. Sorry for the blurry pics but they were taken on his iPhone

This one went in the living room. I was not there on install day so I’m hoping he had it hung high enough!

And in the dining room! Love the amber colored crystals & how they really stand out against the white walls
Next he is having all the wood floors replaced with new lighter heart of pine. There was not much room left for another sanding since the house is older & has been refinished a number of times already.
I will keep updating on the progress. My hand is killing me since I’m having to type with my left hand so I’m signing off.
God Bless
H~
